Mugwort is reached for when the seeker wishes to remember the night, to scry, or to walk the boundary between worlds with greater awareness.

Botanical name: Artemisia vulgaris.

Traditional planetary association: Moon.

Traditional elemental association: Earth.

Sacred to Artemis and to the herbalists of medieval Europe, mugwort lined the staffs of pilgrims as a guard against weariness on long roads.

Tucked into a small pillow under the head, brewed as a weak tea before bed, or smudged in small amounts to ready a space for divination.

A bitter digestive in small amounts.

Strictly avoid in pregnancy.

Use only in moderation.
