Ecclesiastical Credentials: Scope and Recognition

What a church-issued credential means

An ecclesiastical credential is issued within a church or religious body and has meaning under that body's policies. CNE's College of Sacred Arts and Metaphysical Sciences is a ministry education program of the Church of New Enchantment.

This is a recognition guide, not a new degree, ordination course, or standalone credentialing track. Use the current seminary catalog to find the actual education pathway and its requirements. Do not assume a degree automatically provides ordination, endorsement, or appointment.

Accreditation, licensing, and acceptance are different

CNE's seminary credentials are church-issued religious credentials, not regionally accredited academic degrees. A credential issued by a church is not the same as accredited academic study, a professional certification, or state licensure.

Transfer credit, employment screening, ministry appointment, and professional eligibility are decided by the receiving school, employer, religious body, or licensing authority. No outside acceptance or legal result is guaranteed.

A recognition checklist before enrollment

Write down your intended use: personal study, service within a congregation, further academic study, institutional chaplaincy, or regulated practice. Identify the organization that must recognize the credential and ask it directly for its requirements.

Give that organization the exact degree name, issuing church, and non-accredited ecclesiastical status. Ask whether it accepts the credential for your specific purpose and whether it requires additional accredited education, supervision, endorsement, or licensing. Obtain clarity before paying.

Ask CNE what completion documents it issues and what policies govern continuing credential or directory status. Master and doctoral program pages state that Minister membership is required to keep the degree credential and directory listing active after graduation; review that obligation separately from tuition.

Choose an existing pathway and apply first

Compare degree families and levels, then review the live program's actual curriculum. Without a prior relevant degree, start at Associate. Relevant prior religious or spiritual education may be submitted for advanced-standing review, but placement is not automatic.

Admission approval is required before tuition begins. Monthly tuition comes from the live catalog and selected program page; confirm billing terms at checkout. Study is self-paced with no fixed completion duration promised. Payments are nonrefundable after access except where required by law; you may cancel future subscription billing.

Frequently asked questions

Is an ecclesiastical degree an accredited academic degree?

Not here. CNE offers church-issued ecclesiastical credentials, not regionally accredited academic degrees. Church issuance does not establish academic accreditation.

Will another school or employer accept a CNE credential?

Acceptance is not guaranteed. Give the receiving organization the exact credential name and church-issued, non-accredited status, and ask whether it meets the requirements for your intended use before paying.

Does a seminary degree automatically ordain or license me?

Do not assume it does. Degree study, ordination, religious endorsement, professional certification, and state licensure are separate matters. Ask CNE about its own policies and the relevant authority about any outside requirements.

Are there continuing credential obligations?

Master and doctoral program pages state that Minister membership is required to keep the degree credential and directory listing active after graduation. Review the selected program's current membership terms and ask CNE about document and status policies before enrollment.
